St Mary's Hospital is a Christian foundation which provides a home for up to 30 residents in the medieval hospital and other buildings nearby.
The residents are encouraged to live independent lives, and are cared for and supported by the staff consisting of the Warden, Bailiff and Custos (Chaplain). Residents are also encouraged to attend morning prayers in chapel during the week
Applications for Admission
The St Mary's Hospital Trustees receive applications for admission to the almshouses. Priority is given to those who live in the Diocese of Chichester and who reside within a certain distance of Chichester itself. References should normally include a supporting letter from a priest or minister of religion.
