Sara Stonor

Sara lives in the east of the Diocese not far from the border with Kent and the Canterbury Diocese. She is married to Michael, a solicitor and has two children, Annabel and Peter and three grandchildren, Guy (7), Alexander (6) and Libby (2).  She is a professional embroiderer and works and teaches from her home in Burwash.

Sara is a past Chairman of the Cathedral Restoration and Development Trust and is now a Governor of the charity. She is also a Member of the Cathedral Council and a Member of the Canterbury Provincial Panel of the Clergy Discipline Measure 2003. She is a member of the Chichester Diocesan Synod and as a past churchwarden has been involved with her local church since moving to Burwash over 30 years ago.



Sara was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of East Sussex in 2001 and Vice Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex in 2008. She is also Vice-Chairman of the De La Warr Pavilion Trust, the De La Warr Pavilion is a 1930s iconic building in Bexhill-on-Sea.

Sara is part of the Cathedral/Parish Links team and feels that regular contact between the Cathedral and parishes throughout the Diocese is vital and very enjoyable.
