Chichester Cathedral Choir Invited to Perform in Berlin
Chichester Cathedral Choir has been invited to perform in Berlin for four days during March. This prestigious invitation follows a successful visit to Chichester by music students from Berlin last September, and now the Cathedral Choir has been invited to travel to Berlin and perform in two City centre churches, including the famous Gedächtniskirche (Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church).
Supporters of the choir have begun to fundraise to make the trip possible and the first of the fundraising events will be a concert in the Cathedral on 13th February (Valentine's Eve) at 7.30pm on the theme of 'Music is the Food of Love' (tickets £10 and £20). Tickets for the concert are available from the Cloisters shop, or by post from the Liturgy and Music Administrator, The Royal Chantry, Cathedral Cloisters, Chichester, PO19 1PX (telephone 01243 812487), or on the door on the evening of the concert.
More fundraising events are planned for later in the year, including a Gala Evening tour of the Cathedral and parts of the Bishop's Palace that are not normally open to the public, on March 5th, and an Auction of Promises on May 1st.
