Wednesday 27th October between 10.30am and 12.30pm

An exciting collaboration with BBC Learning South East has enabled Chichester Cathedral to offer its October Family Acitivity free of charge.  Taking place on Wednesday 27th October between 10.30am and 12.30pm, this autumn's Half Term Family Activity is called 'Ugly Mugs'...

Lynne Friel, Education Assistant, explains: 'Families will explore the Cathedral using a short trail and on the way will meet some of the characters that would have been around when the Cathedral was built 900 years ago.  They will be greeted by an inn keeper hoping for their custom, discuss the problems of building a Cathedral with a master mason and finally quiz a monk about his daily routine.  Then it's off to the Eastern Arm of the Cloisters to make their very own (and probably very ugly!) gargoyle to take home.  There is no need to book, families are welcome to just drop in'.

BBC Learning's new three year campaign is called Hands on History with the first part focusing on the Normans.  Chichester Cathedral has many Norman features and BBC Learning South East have collaborated with the Cathedral, generously emabling the 'Ugly Mug' activity to be free of charge.  All are welcome.

Come and enjoy the fun!

Wednesday 27th October, drop-in anytime between 10.30am and 12.30pm.
Start by collecting your trail from the Western Arm of the Cloisters.
