On Saturday 25th July Chichester Cathedral hosted the ordination of the new Bishop of Horsham Mark Sowerby, at the Archbishop of Canterbury's special request.  Archbishop Rowan spent the weekend at Chichester Cathedral last October to join its 900th anniversary celebrations and requested that the new Bishop's ordination to held here also.

Bishop Mark was ordained in front of hundreds of people and is moving from Yorkshire to work in Sussex.  The Bishop of Horsham's area includes churches in Horsham, Midhurst, Petworth, Westbourne, Worthing, Arundel, Bognor, Storrington, East Grinstead, Cuckfield, Burgess Hill, Haywards Heath and Crawley.
