Speakers Announced for Seminar on Living With Pain...

Living with Chronic Pain

This seminar will take place on Saturday 21st May 2016, from 9.30am - 12.30pm, in Vicars' Hall.  The seminar is for all who live with chronic pain, care for those who do or would like to know more.

Pain UK estimates that some 14 million people in the UK live with pain.  This is a huge number, often unrecognised by the medical profession and particularly in wider society.  Chronic pain is long-term pain that lasts longer than 12 weeks.

The Cathedral is delighted to announce that the following speakers will be taking part in this seminar:

Anthony Chuter who chairs the Patient Liaison Committee at the British Pain Society and is Chair of the charity Pain UK.  He has lived with chronic pain for over 20 years.

Dr Cathy Price is a Consultant at the University Hospital in Southampton specialising in Pain Medicine.

The Revd Canon Peter Wells is the Lead Chaplain at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust.

This event is free and all are welcome.
