Celebrations in the Chichester Diocese as three women are ordained by Bishop of Lewes

Alison Green Ordination

On Sunday June 15 at St Paul’s, Chichester, the Rt Revd Richard Jackson presided at the first of this year’s Ordination services.

The service marked a special event in the Diocese of Chichester as it was the first time a serving bishop in this diocese has ordained three women to the priesthood.  The three women included Chichester Cathedral’s own curate, The Reverend Dr Alison Green, alongside The Reverend Sarah Flashman from Southbourne and The Reverend Karen Young from St Paul’s, Chichester. They will continue with their curacy in their respective parishes.

This service is the first of several taking place over the next week, when a total of 15 candidates will be priested in five different venues across Sussex.
