Year of the Bible

JUNE:

Monday 5th: 6.30pm ' The Bible in the Public Square', Chancellor's Lectures 2017.  This year the Chancellor, Canon Dr Anthony Cane, is sharing his annual series of public lectures with three distinguished bible scholars; Dr Hannah Strommen, University of Chichester; Professor James Crossley, St Mary's University, Twickenham; Professor Richard Buckham, University of St Andrews.  'The Bible in a Post-truth World' is the first lecture and will be given by Canon Dr Anthony Cane.  In the Cathedral nave.  Free entry and all are welcome.  (Subsequent lectures on 12th, 26th June & 3rd July).

Monday 12th: 6.30pm 'The Bible in Contemporary Culture' a lecture by Dr Hannah Strommen, University of Chichester.  This lecture is the second of the Chancellor's Lectures 2017 (see 5th June entry).  In the Cathedral nave.  Free entry and all are welcome.

Wednesday 14th & Thursday 15th:  Friends' 'Book at Breakfast' meeting with the Cathedral Chancellor, Canon Dr Anthony Cane:  'Prisoners of Geography: Ten Maps That Tell You Everything You Need To Know About Global Politics' by Tim Marshall.

JULY:

Monday 3rd:  6.30pm 'The Bible in the Ecological Debate' a lecture by Professor Richard Bauckham, University of St Andrew's.  This is the final lecture of the Chancellor's Lectures 2017 (see 5th June entry).  In the Cathedral nave. Free entry and all are welcome.

Wednesday 12th: 6.30pm  An Evening with the author Peter Robinson (A Festival of Chichester event).  Tickets on 01243 816525.

SEPTEMBER:

Wednesday 13th: 12.30pm  Friends' 'Food for Thought' lunch and talk 'Children on the Edge' by Rachel Bentley.  Click here to book tickets.
