An Exhibition of Textile Art Exploring Loss and Bereavement

18th February to 29th March

To take place in Chichester Cathedral's North Transept
Open daily with free entry

'Give sorrow words.  The grief that does not speak
Whispers the o'er-fraught heart, and bids it break
(William Shakespeare)

Chichester Cathedral is pleased to present an extraordinary textile installation by two innovative artists.  In this exhibition, LOSS, Jules Findley and Alice Kettle explore the experience of 'Loss' using a variety of textile media and also drawing from their own personal experiences.

This moving, and challenging, exhibition has been created especially for Chichester Cathedral and is comprised of eight different artworks, including four large stitched panels, ceramic works in collaboration with Alex McErlain, and a vast white ripped taffeta curtain to traverse the Cathedral's Transept.  The artists also intend for the exhibition to be interactive and visitors are invited to write their experience of loss and privately incorporate this into the installation.

Chaplains are available daily in the Cathedral.
