ScholarshipsChorister ScholarshipsAuditions for chorister places are available at any time, but there are also usually one or two designated audition days each year. The Organist is very happy to meet families for an informal audition, or an initial assessment of aptitude, and a chat about what is involved in being a chorister. This can be combined with a preliminary tour of the Prebendal School and an opportunity to meet the staff. Organ ScholarEach year the Dean and Chapter appoint an Organ Scholar, who works under the direction of the Organist and Master of the Choristers. Interviews will take place in November for the 2012/13Scholarship. It now takes the form of bursaries for boys at Cathedral choir schools which are funded entirely by the capital raised from donations and legacies. The trustees are the Dean and Chapter of Chichester.
The Traditional Choir TrustThe Traditional Choir Trust was started in 2002 by Dr John Sanders in Gloucester who formed a group of Trustees to run the charity but is now administered by the Communar of Chichester Cathedral. This charitable fund is still growing but is now able to support one bursary to a boy chorister in a Cathedral choir school in a similar way to the Morse-Boycott bursaries.
