Canon Clive Everett-Allen grew up in North Wales and ordained in the Diocese of St. Asaph.

Prior to reading theology at King’s College London in 1966, he worked for a year as a steelworker in Sheffield attached to the Sheffield Industrial Mission.

After three years at Kings he spent a year at St. Augustine’s College Canterbury, before returning to the Diocese of St. Asaph to serve his title curacy in the parish of Minera near Wrexham. In 1972 he moved to be curate of St. Catherine’s Hatcham  (New Cross), where he had a particular responsibility for linking the Church with community development projects. In 1975 he moved to Beaconsfield in the Diocese of Oxord where he was Team Vicar of St. Thomas’ Holtspur. While there he was also chaplain to the Royal Army Educational Corps Centre.

In 1983 he moved to be Rector of Southwick in the Diocese of Chichester. In 1998 he moved to be Vicar of St. Swithun East Grinstead, where he has also been Rural Dean. He was made Prebendary of Bury in 1998. He has also served as TA chaplain for fifteen years and was awarded the Territorial Decoration.

In addition to his other roles he is also a Bishop’s Examining Chaplain, and is the representative of the College of Canons on the Cathedral Chapter. He also serves on the Cathedral Council.

He is married to Cynthia, and they have one surviving daughter Kate, and two grandchildren. Their elder daughter Clare has sadly passed away.
