Following a highly challenging year, this promises to be a Christmas like no other we have ever known, when so many of us will be unable to hold close those most dear to us.
Chichester Cathedral has had a difficult year. Despite having begun 2020 in a healthy financial state, our income ceased almost entirely in March as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, and we predicted losses of over £1million in income.
We have been working hard to make the most of every possible source of funding available to us, and are delighted to have been successful in securing some funding to enable us to continue our work into 2021. It costs us £3,000 a day to run the Cathedral, to preserve and maintain our sacred heritage.
This Christmas, we would like to invite you, if you can, to help to sustain us through the twelve days of Christmas and beyond. Please consider making a Christmas gift within your means, to help us reach our £36,000 target.
