October sees the re-establishment of our theological lecture series in the Cathedral, beginning with the celebrated church historian Canon Prof Nicholas Orme coming to talk on ‘ A Very Short History of England's Cathedrals', which will survey the history of the English cathedral from 312 to the present in 50 minutes.
Prof Orme is Emeritus Professor of History at Exeter University, the author of many books including The History of England’s Cathedrals (Impress Books, 2017) and Going to Church in Medieval England (Yale, 2021), which was recently shortlisted for the Wolfson Prize.
