Young Ambassadors for Social Action (YASA)
Chichester Cathedral's Young Ambassadors programme offers people aged 16 – 25 the opportunity to engage in social action activities, developing ideas and projects. The current YASA sessions are supported by Clarions Futures as part of its Community Ambassadors Programme.
GET INVOLVED: Postcards for the Community
In response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the group are keen to try and make a difference to people who may be self-isolating and feeling lonely, so they have been designing postcards and writing uplifting messages in the hope that they will brighten someone's day. The postcards are being shared with members of the Cathedral congregation and the wider community.
GET INVOLVED: Textile Artwork
Our Young Ambassadors for Social Action (YASA) have been developing a project around eco-fashion, aiming to bring attention to the impact of 'fast fashion'. Whilst we are all observing social distancing, the group invite you to contribute to a collaborative artwork. To get involved simply download the instructions (CLICK HERE) and follow the guidance to create a design on a square piece of fabric.
The Cathedral works in partnership with other organisations to develop relevant, exciting and sustainable initiatives for young people and build lasting relationships to shape future projects.
West Sussex Young Carers Service
With West Sussex Young Carers Service team we are developing opportunities for groups of young carers to take part in engaging and inspirational activities at the Cathedral. Consultation and evaluation is a key element of our delivery plan and young people are encouraged to voice their ideas to help shape the future engagement programme.
|National Citizen Service (NCS)|
NCS brings together 15–17 year olds from different backgrounds at a pivotal moment in their lives to improve social mobility, social cohesion and social engagement.
The Cathedral is hosting NCS during the summer holidays, where participants can come together and be inspired by this amazing place as they explore ideas for their own social projects – building their confidence in what they can achieve, and creating bridges across social divides and ladders to opportunity in the process.
|Chichester Community Development Trust|
