The National Lottery Olympic Park Run took place on Saturday 31 March 2012.  5,000 people were randomly chosen through an online ballot to take their place on the start line and run five miles around the Olympic Park, passing iconic London 2012 venues before reaching the finish line in the Olympic Stadium itself.

The Communar of Chichester Cathedral, Colonel Andrew Maynard RM, was one of those lucky enough to be selected and came an impressive 290th out of 5,000.  He managed to complete the couse in 33 minutes and 20 seconds.

This event was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to run on the track that the world's elite athletes will compete on later in the year.
