Chichester Cathedral Is All Wrapped Up!

Chichester Cathedral is to be all wrapped up as a reminder of the value of legacies to the Chichester Cathedral Restoration & Development Trust.

Alison Godfrey, Director of the Trust comments 'Over the years, legacies have been vital to the restoration and preservation of our beautiful Cathedral.  Without these gifts, large and small, the work of the Trust would never have raised over £10 million which has meant the Cathedral has been so well preserved for future generations.  Can you even begin to imagine what Chichester would look like without the Cathedral gracing the sky line.'

'Today, as much as ever, legacies are critical to our work.  There is still so much to do, from the stabilisation of our precious Tudor paintings, to the restoration of the remainder of the Cloisters as well as any emergency repairs to the bell tower.  We urge people, after they have given to their family and friends, to give some thought to how else they might like to be remembered.'

'That is why, just for the day, we have wrapped the Cathedral in Remember a Charity 'gift' tape as a way of showing our gratitude to all those, who, over many, many years have generously left money for the restoration of the Cathedral in their wills and as a way of reminding people who care about the Cathedral that this is still a vital gift that they can make.'

Anyone who would like to receive further information about how to leave money to the Chichester Cathedral Restoration & Development Trust or to make a donation to their work can contact Alison Godfrey, email:, telephone 01243 812480 or visit the website,
