The Rare Brand Market Ltd and Chichester Cathedral are delighted to announce that a Christmas Market will be held next year in the Cathedral Grounds.
From late November to late December residents and visitors to Chichester will have the chance to explore wares from a variety of independent traders, makers and creatives in 56 traditional huts.
The Market will be accompanied by a selection of joyous festivities, celebrating the vibrancy of the season – complimenting the Cathedral’s programme of services and events marking Advent and Christmas.
The Dean of Chichester, the Very Reverend Stephen Waine, said:
“We are delighted to be collaborating with the Rare Brand Market Ltd to present the Christmas Market at Chichester Cathedral. We have worked closely with Emma and her team to ensure that this highly anticipated experience is fully considerate of the daily life of the Cathedral, and that the Market is appropriate for the special nature of this sacred place of worship”.
A Rare Brands Market Ltd event has been on the Goodwood Estate for over ten years. Founder, Emma Schwarz, said:
“I am proud and thrilled to be bringing The Rare Brand Christmas Market to our cherished Chichester Cathedral, as well as to the Goodwood Racecourse, in 2022. Having been born in Chichester and living here most of my life, I cannot wait to create an event that is truly magical, stylish and respectful to the iconic building that the Cathedral is”.

The Christmas Market has been formally approved by Chichester District Council, and is subject to agreement from the Cathedral Fabric Advisory Committee and the Cathedral’s Fabric Commission (CFCE).
