On Tuesday 1st November 2016 over one hundred people gathered in Chichester Cathedral to take part in a significant event at which representatives from different religions came together for an interfaith conversation to conclude the Year of Mercy.

The Year of Mercy was inaugurated in December 2015 with the opening of St Richard's door, in the Cathedral, as the door of mercy.  During this special year parishes have come to the Cathedral in pilgrimage, going through the door of mercy, and taking part in prayers in the Cathedral's Lady Chapel.

The event was chaired by the Revd Dr Anthony Cane, Cathedral Chancellor and the panel of speakers included:

The Right Revd Dr Martin Warner - Bishop of Chichester

Sheikh Ibrahim Mogra - Muslim Council of Great Britain and Co-Chair of the Muslim Christian Forum

Rabbi Elli Tikvah Sarah - Brighton Progressive Synagogue

Canon Kieron O'Brien - Episcopal Vicar for the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton

Subhadassi - Chair Person of the Brighton Buddhist Centre and member of the Triratna Buddhist order.
