Due to the developing public health situation, it is with great regret that we have to announce the postponement of the 2020 Chichester Cathedral Festival of Flowers, originally scheduled for the 28 – 30 May 2020 (with the preview evening on the 27 May).
On a positive note however, we are very pleased to inform you that we are now planning for it to take place from the 3 – 5 June 2021 (Preview Evening on the 2 June).
Craig Sergeant, Director of the Cathedral Restoration and Development Trust which organises the Event, commented “The postponement of this much-loved biennial event is a major disappointment to all of us including the staff and army of volunteers who have been working tirelessly over the last year. Efforts that would, once again, have resulted in another very special experience as the Cathedral’s remarkable architecture is transformed with stunning floral arrangements.
We would like to thank everyone for their continued support, and we know that you will understand that this is, of course, the prudent action to take in the light of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.”
We are very grateful for all the planning and preparation that has already taken place, and once restrictions are lifted we will resume our planning and look forward to a great celebration of joy with all the flowers around us in the Cathedral.
The Chair of the Festival of Flowers, Hilary Tupper
