Haiti Hospital Appeal

One of the charities which was supported in the last 'external giving' allocation was the Haiti Hospital.  We have received a heart-warming message from the treasurer thanking us for 'all your love, support and prayers which are greatly appreciated by us and all the staff on the ground in Haiti.'

In view of the enormity of the crisis facing the medical services in Haiti, we are appealing during the coming week and next Sunday for donations, which we will forward to the Haiti Hospital, via their UK appeal office.  The hospital is recognised by the Government of Haiti as 'an aid-response source.'

They are seeking aid for:

  • Food, clothing and medication for destitute people in Port-au-Prince and transport to bring victims to the hospital which is in the north of Haiti, for treatment.
  • Support for the many refugees who are beginning to head north, and food distribution for these people.
  • Urgent completion of their new hospital wards (the source of our previous donation).  These are now being used in an unfinished state.

Donations may be brought into the Reception of the Royal Chantry Offices (located in the Cathedral Cloisters) this week, marked 'Haiti' or sent by post to:

The Dean's Secretary
The Royal Chantry
Cathedral Cloisters
West Sussex
PO19 1PX

Cheques should be made payable to Dean & Chapter of Chichester, and marked 'Haiti Appeal' on the back.
