CCF Quarterly Update – December 2025 Welcome to Our Quarterly Update! 2025 has been an exciting year for the Friends of Chichester Cathedral, filled with events and activities that have brought our community closer together. This Autumn, we are pleased to introduce Simon Bell as a new Chapter nominee to the Trust and Annie Harling as our new Secretary. Annie takes over from Karon Read, and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Karon for her dedication and hard work in keeping our governance in top shape. Supporting Our Cathedral's Music We are delighted to announce that the trustees have awarded a 5-year grant to support the provision of music in the Cathedral, particularly the Cathedral Choir. This grant will provide annual funding up to and including 2028, ensuring that our beautiful music tradition continues to flourish. Memorable Events * Summer Drinks Party: Our Summer Drinks Party was a resounding success! With perfect midsummer weather, friends and guests enjoyed catching up in the picturesque Deanery Garden. A big thank you to the Dean and his wife for hosting us. We hope to make this an annual tradition! * Quiz with Fish & Chips Supper: This fun-filled event was a fantastic opportunity to test our general knowledge and enjoy some delicious fish and chips. It was a great way to meet new people and have a good laugh. * Paris Trip: In early October, a group of us embarked on an unforgettable trip to Paris. We visited the iconic Notre Dame Cathedral, explored the grandeur of Versailles, and took in the sights and sounds of the city. It was our first overseas trip in a few years, and everyone had a lovely time. * Music Events: Charles Harrison, our talented organist and master of the choristers, treated us to a mesmerising organ recital. The Advent Concert with Chichester University Conservatoire was the perfect way to round off the year. * Coffee Mornings: Our monthly Saturday coffee mornings continue to be a hit, especially with the delicious homemade cakes! It's a lovely way to start the weekend and catch up with friends. Looking Ahead to 2026 We have an exciting lineup of events planned for 2026! Join us for the Epiphany lunch on January 21, 2025, where our speaker will be the Reverend Dr. Earl Collins, the new Canon Chancellor. Our popular monthly coffee mornings will continue, with the first one scheduled for January 3. We look forward to welcoming both familiar faces and newcomers to these events. Join Us!
