OCTOBER:

Friday 19th - Saturday 20th:  The Inaugural Conference of the Visual Theology Symposium in association with the Diocese of Chichester, and Art and Christianity.  This conference aims to create the space for theologically engaged conversations between religion and the arts, focussing on visual media produced or received in the modern period (1850 onwards).
Call for Papers:  Proposals are welcome from postgraduate, early-career and established researchers working in all relevant disciplines.  Clergy and artists are also particularly encouraged to submit proposals relating their 'practitioner' experience to one or more of the ideas suggested in the Call for Papers (click here).  In this case, alternative methods of presenting the practitioner aspect, such as leading a short service, or displaying art work at the Palace, will be considered.

Proposals of no more than 300 words, together with a short biography (up to 100 words), should be sent to conference@visualtheology.org.uk no later than June 15th 2018.  Papers will be selected on the basis of 20 minute presentations, or with an agreed alternative.

This conference will take place at the Bishop's Palace located next to Chichester Cathedral.  Click here for further information.
