Cathedral Cinema: 'The Gospel of Mark'

The Gospel of Mark
The Gospel of Mark

Saturday 25th November 2017 at 7.15pm at the Cathedral: 'The Gospel of Mark'

A uniquely authentic filmed version of The Gospel of Mark will be screened at Chichester Cathedral, on Saturday 25th November 2017, at 7.15pm.  Narrated by British actors Rupert Penry-Jones and the late Tim Piggott Smith, this critically-acclaimed epic, uses, for the first time ever, the unabridged New Testament Gospels as the word-for word basis for its script.

Five years in the making, The Gospel of Mark forms part of a lavishly-produced series of films made by producers The Lumo Project focussing on the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, and told in a vivid action-packed style.  The series recently won two awards at the UK Christian Film Festival Awards, including 'Best Series'.

Committed to an accurate re-telling of the gospel, the Lumo Project went to great lengths to cast physically-appropriate actors and film in authentic locations.  The movie was shot in the Moroccan town of Ouarzazate, where the Oscar-winning movies Lawrence of Arabia (1962) and Gladiator (2002) were also filmed.

Tickets are £7.50.  Click here to book online.   Tickets can also be bought in person or by telephone from The Novium Museum, Tower Street, Chichester (10.00am - 5.00pm daily, 10.00am - 4.00pm on Sundays 01243 775888).
