A new exhibition, to be displayed at Chichester Cathedral this summer, will invite us to pause at a series of thresholds.  Diane Maclean is an internationally-renowned sculptor whose exhibition, Thresholds, will open at the Cathedral on the 22nd June.

This exhibition will showcase a number of large stainless steel sculptures, several of which have been created especially for this event.  The sculptures will be sited both inside - and outside - the Cathedral and will incorporate light, colour and a sense of motion to draw the viewer in.  The shape and form of the sculptures, one a series of open frames, another a bird's wing, will invite us to explore the potential for transformation, and making crossings, in our own lives.

Diane's visually-arresting pieces will include 'Circle of Light' in the North Transept, where visitors will be able to enter a circle of steel columns and be bathed in a sanctuary of light.  The Cathedral's 'Paradise' - the sacred central area of the Cloisters - will host the 'Road Untravelled', a slim river of gleaming stainless steel.

Diane Maclean is a Fellow of the Royal British Society of Sculptors and her work has been exhibited in the UK, China, Canada, Japan and Norway.

Thresholds will be open daily with free entry.

This exhibition has been curated by Chichester Cathedral and Jacquiline Creswell, Visual Arts Advisor and Curator.
