Thy Kingdom Come: Sunday May 20th

Bishop Richard invites you to the Thy Kingdom Come - Beacon Event at Chichester Cathedral on Pentecost Sunday, May 20th, from 7pm. We want to make this the biggest event of the year!

Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement which the Archbishops of Canterbury and York have invited others to join. The aim is for Christians to pray for more people to know Jesus Christ during a focused time between Ascension and Pentecost. Our hope is that people will commit to pray with God's world-wide family and will hold prayer events across the globe. We also hope those taking part will be transformed by the Holy Spirit through prayer and find new confidence to be witnesses for Jesus Christ.

Archbishop Justin has said: ' I cannot remember in my life anything that I've been involved in where I have sensed so clearly the work of the Spirit.'

In the run-up to the Beacon Event on 20th May, a special prayer installation will be located in the North Transept of the Cathedral.  Beneath banners of white paper doves representing the beauty of creation, the freedom that Christ won for us and the peace that he gives us, there are seven themed stations - visitors are invited to explore the trail at their own pace, taking time for prayer and reflection.

With thanks to Rachel Morris, Ruth Gaucheron-Land and Holly Sabin from Immanuel Church and Revelation Family Church, for curating the Prayer Installation.
