Richard started his thirty year career in public libraries as a lowly assistant librarian in the then new library in Chichester. He ended his career as Head of Libraries in Bath and North East Somerset.
Along the way, he has served in major city libraries and remote branches, signed the Official Secrets Act, been served tea and cake on a travelling library in the depths of rural Somerset, and come across a whole host of lovely, odd and sometimes sinister people. In between there have been thousands and thousands of books. He loves books!
