Joanne, Chichester District Foodbank

Joanne is from the Chichester District Foodbank, a project founded by local churches and community groups working together towards stopping hunger in our local area. The foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust’s network of 428 foodbanks, working to tackle food poverty and hunger in our communities, as well as across the UK. Chichester Cathedral is proud to be a donation point for food and non-perishable produce.

Rob, HEART

Rob represents HEART: a partnership of local churches in Chichester, who play a vital part in helping some of the most vulnerable people in the city. Most of their volunteers are drawn from local churches. HEART stands for Homeless Empowerment and Relational Transformation. It is about providing a safe place, where members of the homeless community can come, know that they can get a hot meal, and talk to someone without pressure or risk of being judged.

John, Stagecoach South

Within a typical year Stagecoach South operated over 18.1 million miles. This equates to 42.6 million passenger journeys; 1,261 employees; 471 buses. Throughout the pandemic, many of us, including key workers, relied upon public transport, from buses and trains, through to taxis. In May, Stagecoach South announced that NHS staff could travel for free on all its buses in the South.
