Carer Kate represents Wellington Grange, a local care-home in Chichester which is staffed by dedicated nurses and health care professionals with extensive experience. Wellington Grange is part of Colten Care, a family-owned care home group. Many of us will have seen the challenges faced by care-homes reported in the news, from vulnerable residents facing isolation, to the stresses felt by their staff.

Julie and Musa: University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust

The Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust put forward two nominees for inclusion with The Chichester Nativity, Julie and Musa.

Head of Nursing (Medicine) Julie was nominated for her tireless compassionate work with families affected by COVID. They said: “Julie’s enduring compassion and care for patients and families caught up in the pandemic makes her a true NHS hero.”

Domestic Assistant Musa shows great care towards all staff and patients alike, he wanted to work 7 days a week so that patients and staff continued to work in a clean safe environment. They said: “It takes special people to work in ITU and I feel Musa is one of them, he compliments the outstanding team work that is carried out daily in a safe clean environment.”

Ava, Bea, Joe, Joey, Max, Rosanna, Sophia: Pebbles

Pebbles is the Cathedrals’ Sunday group for primary-school aged children. Run by volunteers, throughout the pandemic the group continued to meet online via Zoom, and when possible, met as a group to join the Cathedral’s Sunday Eucharist. New families are always welcome.
