Our meeting this year will be held in the Cathedral Nave on Tuesday 10th May at 6.30pm, after Evensong. We hope as many people as possible can join us!
As part of the meeting, we will elect six Cathedral lay representatives to attend the Chichester Deanery Synod, from now until 30th June 2023. To take on this role, you must
- be aged 16 or over,
- be a communicant member of the Church of England,
- and have been on the Cathedral’s roll for at least six months.
Role Requirements:
To be: A person of integrity to represent Chichester Cathedral in a gracious, Christ-like manner; and who treats each member of the Deanery Synod with respect and dignity.
To do: To attend the meetings of the Deanery Synod each year, and report back to the Cathedral Community. To canvas opinions from the congregation, and to feed back to the Deanery Synod. To regularly report and reflect back to the Cathedral Chapter. To be fully involved in the work of the Deanery Synod, which considers all aspects of church life: initiatives being referred to it from the national church; diocesan issues over priorities of work; sharing of information on the life of the church at a local level; making decisions on key policies affecting the Church in the Deanery.

along with accompanying letters of support from two members of the congregation, who also both meet the above bulleted criteria.
Deadline: 10th April. Details of the nominees with their proposers and seconders will be available from Sunday 17th April 2022.
