Cathedral Friends Festival AGM Lunch

The Friends are pleased to announce our Festival Day & AGM with Lunch on Thursday 13th June 2024 with guest speaker Professor Jane Longmore  

Join us for a delicious two-course lunch in The Assembly Rooms, North Street at 12.45 for 1.00pm.

You will be welcomed with a drink on arrival, followed by a buffet of dressed, seasonal salads and a selection of hand-made quiches with meat, fish and vegetarian options, and a lovely choice of summer desserts. Lunch tickets cost £30 and can be booked online, or you can call the Friends office on 01243 812980 on Tuesday and Friday mornings. 

Friends are welcome to attend all or any part of the day. Booking is required for the lunch only.

  • Midday: Eucharist in the Lady Chapel 
  • 12.45 for 1.00pm start: A delicious two-course Lunch in the Assembly Rooms, North St. Chichester. (Booking required, please mention any special dietary requirements)
  • 2.30pm: AGM in the Cathedral Nave  
  • 3.00pm: We are delighted to welcome our guest speaker, Prof Jane Longmore, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Chichester
  • 3.45pm: Tea and cake in George Bell House, 4 Canon Lane

Our guest speaker, Professor Jane Longmore, took up the post as Vice Chancellor of the University of Chichester in May 2017 and has led the completion of the £35million Creative and Digital Technology Park at the Bognor Regis campus and opened the School of Nursing and Allied Health in Chichester. Both are key initiatives in accelerating the provision of higher skills in West Sussex. She is also a member of the Sussex Health and Care Assembly. Jane is a Professor of Urban History, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and was awarded an Honorary Fellowship of the Historical Society in 2014.
