The Leconfield Singers perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Elijah, a large scale oratorio describing biblical episodes relating to the Old Testament story of the prophet Elijah.

The title role, sung by baritone Dyfed Wyn Evans, has a range of arias which are by turns prayerful, weary, and defiant. Dyfed will be joined by three other principal soloists: Soprano – Gail Pearson, Mezzo Soprano – Anna Huntley, and Tenor – Rhodri Prys Jones.

English Philharmonia is a freelance orchestra made up of the finest orchestral musicians in the UK, conducted by Graham Wili, who in addition to being Musical Director of The Leconfield Singers, is the founder and Principal Conductor of both the English Philharmonia and its sister orchestra, the London Handel Baroque Orchestra.
