Musician Biographies
The trio met whilst working for Early Music as Education, a charity based in Liverpool that provides early music education for talented youngsters across the UK.
Ray graduated from the Royal Academy of Music with an MA in 2015, under the direction of Margaret Faultless and Nicolette Moonen. He holds his Licentiate Diploma from the Royal Academy in string teaching and his Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Ray teaches privately in Chichester and London with the London String Academy, and has performed in many prestigious locations across the UK and Europe. Ray is currently in his final year PhD in Music at the University of Chichester, researching conservatoire musicians' well-being, while co-directing Apollo Holistic Coaching.
Lizzie is a cellist from the Wirral, freelancing with professional orchestras throughout the UK such as the Halle, BBC Philharmonic, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and Opera North. She has a love for chamber music and Early music in particular so her two passions come together whilst performing in the Apollo trio. Lizzie studied at the Royal Northern College of Music where she obtained a first class honours degree and at the Royal Academy of Music where she achieved a distinction in her MA, studying with Gillian Thoday and Felix Schmidt respectfully, and baroque cello with Joseph Crouch.
Marino Capulli is an Italian/Bulgarian violinist living in Liverpool and freelancing with professional orchestras in the UK including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic,The Hallé, Northern Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Philharmonic. Before moving to the UK he played with the famous Italian chamber orchestra I Solisti Aquilani with which he performed in some of the most important Italian and European concert seasons. During his time with the orchestra, he was also the first violinist of their string quartet, participating in many recitals across Italy. An important part of Marino’s musical life is collaborating with fellow musicians to play chamber music.

Chichester Cathedral's Lunchtime Concert series is self-supporting, and thrives through the generosity of its audiences. While there is no charge for admission, we suggest a minimum donation of £3 per person, with Gift Aid applied if possible. Donations can be made in the retiring collection, in the Cathedral, at our Visitor’s Desk or at various donation points, using cash, card and contactless or using the button below.

Lunchtime Concerts take place every Tuesday at 1.10pm during term-time, our talented performers come from across the UK and occasionally overseas, to delight our audiences with music from Beethoven to Chopin, Elgar to Mozart and more.
