Their shared passion for music and infectious enthusiasm form the foundation of their unique musical collaboration, which has led them to prestigious stages.

The duo began their first lessons in quatre-mains with Stéphane De May and are currently studying at the Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam under the guidance of Nino Gvetadze. Additionally, they take ensemble lessons with Shuann Chai and regularly participate in masterclasses with Wibi Soerjadi, who describes their playing as follows:

"The young pianists Marianne and Maureen form an excellent piano duo with extraordinary qualities in ensemble playing and musical expression. They highlight the musical structure through layering of sound and intensely passionate playing. Their authentic and sincere approach to performance makes the music resonate with emotion and inner strength."

Marianne and Maureen have already performed at renowned venues, such as the Jurriaanse Hall of De Doelen in Rotterdam and the Festival d’Anniviers in Switzerland. Their playing is characterized by a subtle and refined touch, combined with power, expressiveness, and a special attention to detail.

Introduction of the concert:

On the occasion of their tenth anniversary, piano duo Marianne Hansen and Maureen van IJzerloo present a special concert tour entitled Dancing and Fantasies.
Since the age of twelve, they have formed a close duo, known for their refined interplay, rich sound and expressive playing. What started as a shared love for quatre-mains has grown into a mature collaboration that has brought them to many beautiful stages.

In this anniversary programme, Marianne and Maureen take the audience on a journey full of dreamy fantasies and dancing music. They play, among other things, Schubert's impressive Fantasy in F minor, full of lyricism and drama, and Ravel's fairytale Ma mère l'Oye, which fits perfectly within the theme. Together with other surprising pieces, they fully demonstrate their colour, feeling and musicality.

They studied with Nino Gvetadze and Shuann Chai and also received many inspiring lessons and guidance from Dutch pianist Wibi Soerjadi. With Dances and Fantasies they not only celebrate ten years of playing together, but also the strength of their musical friendship, something that you can feel in every note.
