Lunchtime Concert: Timothy Ravalde

Chichester Cathedral's popular lunchtime concerts take place on Tuesdays at 1.10pm during term time, in the spectacular setting of the Cathedral Nave. They are free and last approximately 50 minutes. You are welcome to come and go as you please. Coffee is available at no extra charge, and some visitors even bring a sandwich! There is a retiring collection.

L Vierne - Symphony No. 2, Op. 20

Timothy Ravalde has been the Assistant Organist of Chichester Cathedral since 2010, in which capacity he accompanies the daily services, assists with the training of the choir, and appears on numerous recordings and broadcasts. Since 2011 he has also been the Musical Director of Fernhurst Choral Society with whom he has conducted a wide range of the choral and oratorio repertoire.

He was educated at the Nelson Thomlinson School, Wigton, and held organ scholarships at Carlisle and Salisbury Cathedrals. He graduated from Cambridge University, where he studied music and held the organ scholarship at St John’s College, in 2010, and won the 2009 Brian Runnett Prize for organ playing.
