Peace Doves | Evening Viewings

Chichester Cathedral will be open late on selected evening dates to allow visitors to experience Peace Doves after hours.

Explore the 948 year old Cathedral and experience the installation by twilight. Our evening viewings give visitors a unique opportunity to enjoy this immersive and tranquil exhibition, which is set to evocative music composed by David Harper.

Half-hourly slots are available for booking between 6:30pm - 8:00pm during these special viewings on:

  • Saturday 30th September
  • Friday 13th October (new date added)
  • Saturday 28th October
  • Thursday 2nd November
  • Friday 3rd November
  • Thursday 9th November

This artwork is made up of fifteen thousand individually handmade paper doves which are suspended above the Cathedral’s historic Nave. Each dove contains a message of peace, love and hope, written by local community groups, schools and members of the public.

Peace Doves is an artwork that has been re-curated for different spaces as it tours the UK. Adaptations have been seen in many Cathedrals including Rochester, Liverpool, Lichfield, Derby and Sheffield.
