With temperatures rising across the Chichester District, we've found ways to help our local community stay safe. Find out how you can be a #HeatwaveHero from some of our friends:


1) Chichester District Foodbank

If you're headed to cool down at the supermarket, Chichester District Foodbank are urgently looking for donations of non-perishables listed here>>, these can be placed in the donations box at the Cathedral's entrance, or one of the locations listed here>>


2) Stonepillow

Water, sun cream and hats are needed help rough sleepers stay safe as it can be a challenge to find drinking water and shade. Stonepillow can help provide necessary resources to those in need.


3) RNLI

Always keep safe in and around water by following advice from the RNLI, Chichester Harbour and Chichester Canal. Learning the 3 simple steps below could save your life.


4) Sussex Wildlife Trust

Don't forget about our wildlife by leaving out a small bowl of water, topping up bird baths or keeping an area of your garden shaded. Find out more ways to help from Sussex Wildlife Trust here>>


6) Chichester District Council

And finally make sure you take care of yourself by staying hydrated, wearing SPF, keeping in the shade. Look out for others who may struggle in warmer weather. Find helpful information from Chichester District Council here>>


The Cathedral is open Monday to Saturday 9.00am - 5.00pm and Sunday 12.00pm - 2.00pm with the ancient stone keeping us cool inside and the 600 year old cloisters providing shaded spots to take a break! Entry free, donations welcomed.
