Early bird bookings until 31 August offer 10% off admission and free entry for drivers
Chichester Cathedral is inviting group travel organisers, coach operators, arts and culture societies and community groups to book early for this year's Chichester Cathedral Light Experience. Groups can take advantage of a 10% early bird discount until 31 August, with adult tickets reduced to £11.70 and free admission for drivers accompanying qualifying bookings.
Running from 23 – 31 October 2026, this year's Chichester Cathedral Light Experience presents Illuminating Art, the spectacular immersive installation by internationally acclaimed artistic collaboration Luxmuralis – artist Peter Walker and composer David Harper.
Making its Sussex debut, Illuminating Art transforms the Cathedral through breathtaking projection, light and music, taking visitors on a journey through four centuries of artistic creativity. Inspired by major artistic movements through to the arrival of photography, the age of steam and the birth of animation, the experience offers groups a memorable cultural outing in one of England's finest medieval cathedrals.
"Following the incredible response to last year's inaugural Chichester Cathedral Light Experience, we're delighted to welcome groups back this autumn. Whether you're organising a coach holiday, arts society visit or community group outing, this is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy an unforgettable evening together. We encourage group travel organisers to book before 31 August to take advantage of the early bird savings and secure their preferred date and timed entry slot."
Rebecca Lewry-Grey, Visitor Experience Manager at Chichester Cathedral
Make a day of it: art, history, shopping and sightseeing.
Timed entry slots are available between 5.30pm and 8.30pm each evening, giving groups plenty of opportunity to spend the day exploring Chichester before enjoying the Light Experience.
Before the Light Experience, groups can enjoy a guided or self-guided Cathedral tour, exploring nearly 950 years of history, architecture and remarkable works of art, including the celebrated High Altar Tapestry by artist John Piper, which marks its 60th anniversary this year. Specialist tours focusing on the Cathedral's art collection are also available, alongside behind-the-scenes visits to areas not normally open to the public, including the Cathedral Library and Song School. (Guided tours are subject to availability.)
Groups can also enjoy the Cathedral's popular Spire Visits, offering spectacular panoramic views across Chichester and the South Downs.
Beyond the Cathedral, visitors can spend time exploring Chichester's historic city centre, renowned for its independent shops, cafés and restaurants, as well as cultural attractions including Pallant House Gallery, The Novium Museum and Oxmarket Contemporary.
Early bird group bookings are available until 31 August 2026. Groups of six or more can benefit from 10% off admission, reducing adult tickets to £11.70, with the group email booking fee waived during the early bird period. Drivers accompanying qualifying group bookings receive free admission.
