Local businesses are being invited to play a part in this year's Advent and Christmas celebrations at Chichester Cathedral, helping to create a welcoming festive atmosphere for the thousands of people who visit during the season.

For more than 950 years, Chichester Cathedral has stood at the heart of the city, bringing people together in celebration, reflection and worship. During Advent and Christmas, the Cathedral welcomes more than 20,000 visitors, alongside thousands attending services, concerts, school events and community gatherings.

This year, the Cathedral is inviting a small number of local businesses to support its Christmas display through the sponsorship of five illuminated Christmas trees, which will be placed throughout the building.

The trees will help create a festive setting for visitors, families, schools, charities and community groups throughout the Christmas season. Sponsors will be recognised as supporters of the Cathedral's Christmas celebrations and will receive a range of benefits, including acknowledgement on-site and through Cathedral communications.

The initiative forms part of the Cathedral's wider commitment to welcoming people from across the city, district and diocese during Advent and Christmas, one of the busiest periods in the Cathedral calendar.
