Spire Visits | Guided roof tours

Discover Chichester from a unique perspective on one of our Spire Visits.

Led by expert Guides, this special experience takes you through parts of this historic Cathedral rarely seen by visitors, including the vast medieval roof spaces beneath the Cathedral's iconic spire.

As you climb 164 spiral steps, you'll encounter an extraordinary 13th-century oak roof structure, complete with original carpenter's marks and timber pegs that reveal the skill and ingenuity of the medieval craftspeople who built it. Preserved high above the Cathedral floor, these historic spaces offer a rare glimpse into the fabric of one of Sussex's most remarkable buildings.

At the top, you'll be rewarded with breath-taking panoramic views across the city, the South Downs, Chichester Harbour, Goodwood, Portsmouth, the Isle of Wight and beyond, offering an unforgettable perspective on both the Cathedral and the surrounding landscape.
