Festival of Flowers

Chichester Cathedral’s Festival of Flowers is a biennial event organised by Chichester Cathedral Restoration & Development Trust, which raises significant funds for the restoration of Chichester’s 950-year-old Cathedral and the wider heritage of the Cathedral including world-class music, learning and engagement and art. The Festival has raised over £1.2million towards the cost of restoration work over the past 22 years.

The Festival of Flowers is a four-day spectacular event taking place from 5th – 8th June 2024. Visitors to the Festival will have the opportunity to experience 60 floral arrangements, handcrafted by talented florists and flower enthusiasts from across the county. The theme of the 2024 event is ‘Creation’. Designer Hannah Howell and her team of arrangers will transform the Cathedral, providing a stunning visual array of creative, imaginative, and beautiful flower arrangements, stimulating both your eyes and sense of smell.

Novelist and broadcaster Kate Mosse is our Patron for 2024.

How you can get involved

Become a Festival of Flowers Volunteer

With over 15,000 visitors expected over the four-day event, we need an army of volunteers to help with stewarding and maintain the flow of visitors. Volunteers will ensure that displays are not touched or moved, answer queries, and help where needed. If you would like to join us as a volunteer, please contact flowerfestival@chichestercathedral.org.uk. We also need volunteers to help in the marketplace whilst the Festival is open, and to support the flower arrangers during the build-up to the opening on 4th June 2024.

Sponsor a Festival of Flowers arrangement

We have 60 floral arrangements available to be sponsored, ranging from £250 to £2,000 depending on size, complexity, flower composition, and location. You can sponsor these arrangements in full or in part.

If you can sponsor the full amount for an arrangement your support will be acknowledged as prime sponsor.

Contributions towards the full cost of sponsorship and collaborative donations from groups and individuals are all welcomed.

A range of benefits are offered to reflect the level of sponsorship:

All sponsors donating £100 or more will have their name listed in our souvenir programme and alongside the arrangements in the Cathedral (unless they wish to remain anonymous). In addition, you will receive the following, if you donate:

Listing and two complimentary tickets on Wednesday, 5th June, to include ‘Bubbles and Canapes’ with the arrangers and Design Team.

Listing, two complimentary tickets for ‘Bubbles & Canapes’ and the opportunity for a personal highlights tour of the Festival.
