Year of Prayer 2018

Advent Sunday, 3rd December 2017, marked the beginning of the 'Year of Prayer' which is a Diocesan initiative that will help to develop and deepen the life of prayer and spirituality within the Diocese.

Year of Prayer 2018

The Bishop of Chichester, Dr Martin Warner,  has declared 2018 as 'A Year of Prayer' across the Diocese with a significant programme that will cover the whole year.  Dr Warner outlined a detailed set of initiatives at a meeting of the Diocesan Synod to encourage individuals and churches across the Diocese to respond.  After a Year of Mercy (2016) and a Year of the Bible (2017), the Bishop has announced that 2018 will be known as the Year of Prayer. It is part of a five year strategy aimed at renewing ministry for mission for the Church of England across Sussex.

"This is a Diocesan initiative to help us develop and deepen the life of prayer and spirituality within the Diocese with a particular emphasis on building bridges between our personal and corporate prayer, thus enabling us better to pray our worship" explained the Bishop.

A full list of all that has been organised for the year is listed on the Diocese of Chichester website and can be viewed by clicking here.
