Get to know Chichester Cathedral this academic year 2025-2026.

We have a programme of events for students - a fantastic chance to get settled into the city and meet people with shared interests.

Chichester Cathedral is at the centre of city life, from worship and events to activities for all of the community, celebrating our traditions while blending music and art with history.

Thinking of visiting us? The Cathedral is open Monday – Saturday (9.00am-5.00pm) and Sunday (12.30-2.30pm). Please check the Cathedral website ahead of your visit, to ensure we are not closed for special services.  Free entry for all, though donations are welcome. We also have a Gift Shop and the Cloisters Kitchen & Garden, serving locally roasted coffee and tea, freshly baked pastries and more

See more information about upcoming events below.

Evensong

Choral Evensong is a service of singing, prayer and readings, taking place in the historic setting of the Quire. The wooden stalls were provided by Bishop Langton in the 1330s. Held most evenings at 5.30pm, and on Sundays at 3.00pm, sung by the Cathedral Choir with music composed by the likes of Byrd, Tallis, Stanford, Palestrina, and Thomas Weelkes.

Clothing Swap Shop

Passionate about sustainability and love a charity shop trip? Have some clothes you've fallen out of love with? Join us from 10.00 -11.30am on Saturday 27 September for our next Clothing swap Shop.

Dive into your wardrobe and pick out a few items to bring along and discover some fabulous new things to take home! Everyone is welcome. A Fairtrade café will be offering tea, coffee and cake. Bring along a travel mug and help us reduce, reuse and recycle.

No money changes hands. The fashion industry is responsible for 8-10% of our carbon emissions each year alongside its ethical challenges around workers’ human rights on farms or in factories. By recycling clothing and ‘breaking up’ with fast fashion, we can reduce our impact on the planet and save money too!
