TrinityFest on the Green, held on Sunday 15 June was a wonderful celebration marking our 950th anniversary. Blessed with blue skies and sunshine, the vibrant event brought thousands of attendees together to honour the city’s creativity, diversity, and community spirit.

The day started with a special service, led by The Right Reverend Dr Martin Warner, Bishop of Chichester. Nearly 400 people congregated for the service with uplifting music from the Cathedral Choir before spilling out onto the Cathedral Green to enjoy the festivities.

Families and individuals of all ages took part in a variety of creative and family-friendly activities organised by partners including, Chichester Pride, the Rotary Novum Beacon, Henry Adams and Family Arts Network, a consortium of Chichester’s cultural and educational organisations who promote activities for children and families.

The Green was bustling with excitement and local food vendors proved in high demand, serving up mouth-watering dishes. The food offering included delicious skewers from Hu Bay Satay, tender beef brisket from Street Food by Jameson and delectable crepes from Crepe Britain. The Cloisters Kitchen & Garden also served up a sizzling barbecue menu and created Chichester950 cupcakes for visitors to enjoy.

Live performances throughout the day provided a vibrant soundtrack to the event, featuring The Steel Pan Duo, traditional music from Two Colours Ukrainian Women’s Choir, and a powerful vocal performance by Emily Frances Cook. Chichester Festival Theatre also hosted a Mini Movers session, getting lots of the younger audience and their grown-ups up on their feet and dancing.

TrinityFest also marked the official launch of the Festival of Chichester 2025 by special guest speaker and local author Kate Mosse, paving the way for five weeks of artistic and cultural celebration across the city.

“We are delighted at just how many thousands of people attended our TrinityFest on the Green event. One of the key moments in our 950th anniversary year, it was wonderful to celebrate everything that makes Chichester extraordinary. We are so grateful to the local community, businesses, and partners who came together to make this day one of joy for everyone.”

Oliver Tubb, Communications Manager

Supported by Henry Adams and Stagecoach, TrinityFest on the Green was part of the Chichester950 programme, a year-long celebration of the Cathedral’s remarkable legacy of history, culture and faith.

We are now looking ahead to more exciting events and initiatives to mark its anniversary milestone, including our spectacular Light and Sound Experience in October. Early bird tickets for this finale event are now on sale
